Update: Corporate Liability For Corruption From 1 June 2020
The Prime Minister’s Office has clarified that the implementation of Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (MACC Act) will commence on 1 June 2020 as originally planned.
Section 17A of the MACC Act imposes corporate liability upon commercial organisations for corrupt acts of its associated persons. For details, please read our earlier legal alert here.
